How to use
- Screw it in. Fit it into any standard lamp and switch the lamp on.
- First charge. Leave it on for 5 hours to fully charge the battery.
- Leave the switch on. Keep your lamp switched on so the bulb can tell when the power cuts.
- Power goes out? It switches on by itself and keeps shining.
- Take it with you. Screw on the hook cap and press the button to hang it anywhere, or use the plug adapter to charge and light it from a wall socket.
- Recharge. Put it back in your lamp, and it tops itself up while it shines.

How does it turn on when the power goes out?+
The bulb has a built-in rechargeable battery. When it senses the power has cut, it switches to the battery by itself and keeps shining. You don’t have to do anything.
Do I need to leave the lamp/light switch on?+
Yes. Leave your lamp switch ON. That’s how the bulb tells the difference between a power cut and you turning the lamp off. If the switch is off, it treats that as “lights off” and stays off.
How does it charge?+
It charges itself whenever the lamp is on, just like using a normal bulb. No cables or plugging in.
How long does the first charge take?+
Leave it on for 5 hours before first use so the battery is fully charged. After that it tops itself up every time the lamp is on.
Do I need to charge it every day?+
No. Normal lamp use keeps it topped up, so it’s ready whenever the power goes.
Can it charge during a power cut?+
No. It needs power to charge. It stores up charge while the power is on, then uses it when the power goes out.
How long does it stay lit in a blackout?+
Up to 10 hours on a full charge. The time depends on how charged the battery is when the power goes out.
Is it bright enough to light a room?+
Yes. It works as a normal LED bulb (about a 60W equivalent), so it lights a room, not just a corner like a phone torch. In blackout mode it may be a little dimmer to save battery. (Confirm with your supplier.)
Does it get dimmer as the battery runs down?+
It can soften slightly toward the end of the battery. That’s normal for a rechargeable light.
Warm or daylight, which should I pick?+
Warm (yellow) feels cosy, which suits bedrooms and living rooms. Daylight (white) is bright and crisp, which suits kitchens, garages and hallways. Many customers mix both.
Will it fit my lamp?+
It has a standard E26/E27 screw base , the normal US/UK/CA household lamp size. If your lamp takes a regular screw-in bulb, it will fit.
Does it work in ceiling lights or multi-bulb fixtures?+
It’s designed for table and floor lamps. Some ceiling, enclosed and multi-bulb fixtures don’t let it detect the outage properly, so we recommend lamps for blackout use.
